I am sending some electronic appliances to Nepal but they all take 110V. Does anyone know if I can buy a 220v to 110v (downgrade) voltage converter in Kathmandu? If so, which store(s)? Please don't just guess... I would like to know from someone who's bought one, or know with certainty that someone did...

Thanks!

sure, it costs around Rs. 1000; can be bought at electronic stores. You can double check by letting anyone in kathmandu to ask about it.

I have used 110V notebooks and printers in Nepal. Only thing you need to do is buy voltage stabilizer that gives both 220V and 110V output. The input is regular (220V). You can find the converters easily in the market. If you can't find cheap ones you can definitely find Japanese "Matsunaga" voltage stabilizer in the market. But Matsunaga used to be quite expensive

Hope this helps.

if you have many appliances, then buy a voltage stabalizer with more outputs which costs about rs.800. I bought it at a store near bishal bazaar, but most probably you'll find it in most electrical stores. you can also get a small adaptor with 1 output for about rs. 250.
