For BP, socialism signified both a doctrine and a political movement going on all over the world. He clearly envisaged a wave of socialism in the future as it was "the naturally of the Third World," He emphasized that without "the anchorage of socialism, the countries of the Third World drift either to fascist militarism or to dictatorial communism or to obscurantist reactionary religious fundamentalism.
