Lovers commit suicide


A pair of lovers has committed suicide in Kapilvastu district because the society would not approve of their love since one of the lovers belonged to a so-called Dalit caste, national news agency RSS reported Wednesday.


Seventeen-year-old Rajib Sunar of Palpa who had been staying at Imaliya, Barakalpur and 15-year-old Sabina Thapa Magar took their own lives after their families and society did not accept their love.


Both hung themselves to death in the forest at local Gorusinghe on Monday night. nepalnews.com June 24 09
