It is believed that great-grand daughter of Tribhuwan and other Royal family allegedly smuggled it to india and I heard that nepali official is negotiating to bring it back to Narayanhiti palace museum.

I saw it way back in Dehradoon in an abondoned shape surrounded by vegitation in 1992 .
I was a transporter and tour operator 1990-1997,...my bus was punctured .......to ease out self ,was there with a Bear bottle and i broke that with this car after ?.
Later i find that the car was a Gift -Model (1939) Deimler Benz & not the so called Mercedes Benz ! . Were made to order only two of them? .
One Hitler gifted to the King and another was Gifted to The then "First Prime Minister" of Nepal. There were only two in fact ? . The car is now in quest is in dilapilated condition.

Sometimes it is difficult to trace the places we usually passed-by ,...now am keen to see the place and the car again .

its only hearsay, hitler gifted nothing to nepali king or the ranas before the second great war. it was gifted by some official or minister maybe but not hitler himsself. i doubt he even knew there is a nation called nepal.
