 Beware of Kali Travels (USA-NEPAL) ticketing agent

Hello everyone,
I just want to warn all nepai in the USA that Kali Travel is not a relaible ticketing agent for international flights. I bought ticket last year and was troubled a lot.

1. They charged me more money than promised.
2. My fligjt schedule was messed up. Total flight duration being 62 hours (22 hours more than orginal flight schedule).
3. Because of poor communication with the agent, my tickets got lost and I bought another ticket (Imagine a student paying around 4500 dollars to go home).
4. Later I was charged $100 for refund of one of the tickets.
5. The amount I am entitled to get for over-charging is never sent to me.
6. The agent now never ansewrs my telephone nor does replies my emails.

So beware and think before dealing with this agent.

yes me too, they did me long ago. But, I don't know about now. They might have changed their strategy about customer service. Anyway, they are not a professional Travel Agency, they look like home made Travel Agency.

I am not sure how it is going to turn out but I have recently made a purchase of a ticket from them. It was a good deal of 1400 bucks for Dec 25th. So, I guess it isn't a big deal if it is just the money.

However, I do want to be cautious. Thanks for the information guys....

I purchased a ticket from them.
They gave me the best deal ( without any bargain) and my schedule also seems ok.

I am very pleased with their prompt response.


Peace Land Travels foold me for 3/4 days.

LUCK DAY--WEDDING DAY-- SCHOOL EXAMS--THESE WERE THE REASONS GIVEN--I HAVE COMPLIED TO EVERY REQUEST AND WHEN TICKET WAS FINALLY ISSUED--THERE WAS A LAYOVER IN BKK FOR OVER 14 HRS. AN EMAIL OF EVERY ITINERARY WAS SENT TO YOU. YOU WERE GIVEN TIME TO REVIEW THEM AND AGAIN A PRINT OUT WAS GIVEN--IT IS THE PASSENGER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO REVIEW THEM. I COMPLIED WITH YOUR REQUEST TO CHANGE YOUR ITINERARY DUE TO THE LENGTHY LAYOVER IN BKK AND THAT DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED A VISA. I EVEN OFFERED A CHEAPER ROUTE VIA MIDEAST AND EUROPE BUT YOU DECLINE. SINCE YOU REQUESTED THE CHANGE, AS MENTIONED EARLIER, CHINA AIR WILL CHARGE YOU A FEE TO CHANGE THE ITINERARY. THE TICKET WAS ISSUED OCT 17 FOR TRAVEL DEC 9--YOU CONTACTED ME ON OCT 25--THAT THE ITINERARY WAS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOU. WE NEEDED YOUR TICKET TO REISSUE AND I AGREED TO CHANGE YOUR ITINERARY AND I AGREED TO WAIVE THE CHANGE FEE- I AGREED TO PAY FROM MY OWN POCKET. A COMMISSION RECALL WAS ALSO REQUIRED BY CHINA AIR. YOU MAILED THE TICKET TO THE WRONG ADDRESS THAT'S WHY THE TICKET GOT LOST. YOU WERE CHARGED A FEE=LOST TICKET FEE BY CHINA AIR AND YOU WERE CHARGED FOR ANOTHER TICKET UNTIL RESEARCH AND PROOF THAT THE TICKET DID INDEED GET LOST. ONCE PROVEN THE REFUND WAS GIVEN AND YOU WERE NOT CHARGED $4500--YOU PAID THE ORIGINAL AMOUNT OF THE TICKET PLUS YOU INCURRED A $100 LOST TICKET FEE. I WASNT ABOUT TO COVER THAT-- I PAID FOR YOUR CHANGE FEE AND I LOST MY COMMISSION.

I couldn't understand that the guy named "Prakash" is involved in Kali travels. He himself warning the people. I guess there is also other american lady, to whom I deal.

If you want to file a law suit against "prakash ji," you can send me an email via this site. What he/she has done has definitely caused bad name to the business and your emotional stability.

Hi Friends,
It is nice to hear something from Kali Travels. At least I could get some response.
I am not a person with bitter tounge and I would like to thank Kali travles for arranging my flight to KTM and back. I really thank them from depth of my heart.
My complain is only with their "deaf-eared" response to me.

Now let me show some light to the other part of the story.

Kali Travels got me a ticket and the first confirmed ticket for which I payed is has a part of ITIN as follows:

And from here all the problem began. See the schedules. I had to fly from BKK 2 hours before landing !!! Is it ever possible. The agent wants the customer to validate it. The first question is how such ITIN was produced by the computer system. And when her experienced eyes could not find it, how am i supposed to know this.

Because of this impossible ITIN airlines got me everything as per ITIN except for that particular sector. I was put into next morning flight and my total transit time in BKK was 22 hrs and i would land KTM the other day. This was not acceptable for me because more important things were waiting for me at home. So I requested for change in ITIN.
For that I was asked to mail back the ticket to airlines' ticketing office and this is the emal I got fot that

"and pls mail ticket to 300 n coit rd, richardson ,tx 75080
without it=they cant reissue and make changes"

This address doesn't have "suite number" of the office and my ticket was never deliverd to them. Luckily i had "confirmed" postage and it came back to me. She says she sent me correct address and sent me another copy of email which I NEVER RECEIVED. I turst her she tried sent me email but her 'blackberry' might have deceived her.

Because my ticket was lost, I bought another ticket, paid in full and flew home. After coming back, I processed for refund. Paid $100 as fee and got the refund. This process was also delayed ONLY BECAUSE SHE NEVER CONTACTED TICKETING OFFICE because they require something from agent. and I have a proof of this too.
Then I asked for the refund check for the money I was over-chaged. I was charged 90 dolars more than promised. She often answered to my email that she will do it next week and on the last email (dated 31 May) she said she needed some time to go through my file. Then I waited 3 more months but nothing happened.

At last, frustrated with all this, I wrote her "Final" email showing my dissatisfaction which she says NASTY. In my entire life I haven't said anything bad to anyone and I CHALLENGE HER to prove that the emial was nasty. I dont remember everything thing I wrote, but the gist is I showed my dissatisfaction, and warned that I'll do my best to warn other possible sustomers to THINK TWICE before making a deal with them . It is my responsibility to advise others of probable loss and that is the only thing I am doing here on SAJHA.COM.

In my opinion she does give the best deal for tickets but what i believe even more is "It is not justified to turn deaf-ear to a customer in trouble just because you give best deal to rest of others". She was one of the sweetest and comfortable person to deal with till things started getting worse.

To the friend who want Kali Travels to have law suit against me:
you dont need to do this. She has enough legal expertise to do it herself. And now I am capable enought to bear any lawsuits with all the proofs with me if anything as such should happen.

SO FRIENDS, KALI TRAVELS IS GOOD AND WILL SAVE FEW DOLLARS UNTIL YOU GET INTO SOME SERIOUS TROUBLE. ONE THINGS 100% true that THEY DONT HAVE MINIMUM REQUIRED CUSTOMER SERVICE.

AND ALL THESE WOULDN"T HAVE HAPPENED HAD SHE RESPONDED TO MY EMAILS ON TIME.

I totally believe Prakash ji. And Basnyat1, what kind of costumer service is this " PRIORITY IN THE OFFICE IS BOOKING FIRST, RESPONDING TO EMAILS/CALLS/ ACCOUNTING IS LAST" Your priority should be your old costumer who already bought tickets from you. You should try to handle your costumer in hand if you don't have time rather than being greedy and try to grab as much as costumer as you can. Your husband's surgery is not a reasonable excuse. If you are in business be ethical and meet your costumer's need. Don't give a lame excuse. If you can not handle it close the business or hire more employee. Thanks Prakash ji for your information. I will never be using their service.

Indeed!

In the beginning, I too was thinking there are always two sides of the story. Maybe this Prakash guy is just another disgruntled customer (but customer nonetheless) and Kali Travels did what it could.

But then, lo and behold, here are the words from the horse's mouth:

PRIORITY IN THE OFFICE IS BOOKING FIRST, RESPONDING TO EMAILS/CALLS/ ACCOUNTING IS LAST

This just proved Prakash's point.

I will never never ever give my business to a firm that puts its paid customer last and looks to snare new customer first.

Say what you must, you guys, but I'd rather go with Peaceland. They not only are pleasant and look forward to serving new customers, but also take care of the old ones who need help and or need to make changes.

Thanks for letting us know the fact. After reading all these thread anyone can tell you were right and you were not receiving the customer's service that you should have received. Basically we like to do business with nepali travel agent. Withen last 4 years I bought 5 tickets to go to nepal (From different agent) and thanks god I never had any problem. This might be just the isolated incident but neverthless , after knowing this story I wont recomend anyone to kali travels.
