According to Sunday - Sagarmatha TV, my answer is---"I don't do the wrong judgment." It is because "one can't judge the whole people of Nepalese community do wrong in thinking. The question has been rising that the judgment of Dashian&Tihar-DC dance competition was fair? The way of judging to the innocent Nepalese dancer's performance was sarcastic that made the dancer's self-esteem down for coming enclave's events. It was believe that the judgment board from the huge Nepali ethnic group of DC metropolitan city, was assigned to broadly define and fairly pick the candidates who have presented the best performance simultaneously. Wasn't it true that the prizes were the key reason to evaluate unfairly? Answer is yes.., it was anticipated that different winning prizes were awarded to three winners, and over a dozen Nepalese dancers were solicited on 5th Nov,04. Hundreds of people were gathered, and among them more than two-third audiences have found about the wrong judgment to select the winning candidates because of high prizes that ever granted. The commons senses should be used that the awards must grant on the basis of dancer's proficiency, fashion, and nation's oriented tradition and culture that people believed in. Thank you for reading ..................If you wish to talk, you can contact me by e-mail y29guy@yahoo.com

Hi, Yes, I also heard that the prize distribution was not fair. The prizes were given to "afanta" of the peoples in executive board and Janne sunne bhanauda in the society. Read my comments on the current dilemma of Nepali societies in North America. They talk a lot about democracy in Nepal, but al most all of them lack democracy within their own society. Neither NPPA nor ANA nor other ANLS ... blah blah have courage to be really democratic and honest to its general members. http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/openThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=18066 GP http://www.eOpinion.org/

Argggggh!! Sometime I really hate sajha... eh... mood ma aayera 1 page lekhyo, and when it comes to submit it, my session is expired. I press the back button and everything I have written disappears in a thin air.. San, isn't it possible to make this session little bit longer? eh. Anyway, what did I write? hmmmm... Well, GP Baaaa, Why are you so much worried about such a small thing? Regarding that dance competition, it's a Kids Dance Competition for a GaneshSake. Obviously the one who came first is selected "unfairly" TO the families/friends/relatives of those who came second and beyond. Just do the math about the majority of the people who thought it was unfair, compared to the people who thought it was fair. There is only ONE person who made it to the top. For her family and friend, it was fair. But there are other multiple set of people whose friend/ relative couldn't make it to the top. Hence, bad mouth. Simple as that. And in such a small community like, where one person knows other, it is always "who you know!" rather than the talent. It could have been unfair, but one cannot deny the fact that the girl who came first, is a very good dancer. Where there are 10 people who admire something, There are other 10 people who beg to differ. Where there are people like me who read GP'baa's Technical stuff as if they are reading the course book, there are other people who can't stand the word starting with "gya". But that doesn't make you less-knowledgeable. That doesn't make those who think otherwise any knowledgeable. ... Mukh ho, pyaar pyaar bolcha, chukkul laauna bhayena. Probably, this is just the way the world spins.... go wit it. ;) Regarding those ANA and other stuffs, I BET noone goes there to improve democracy of the society... let alone the democracy of the country. Frankly, honestly, truthfully, I don't go to ANA so that I'd strengthen the democracy of the country or society or whatever. I just go there since I don't have to drive, I can get really drunk (or I can really get drunk). And it's always pleasure meeting people. Those "desh banau" goshti - soshti in those kind of conventions are pure bull. I wouldn't be HERE in USA in the FIRST PLACE if I was so much worried about democracy of my country, would I? See I am being honest. And I hate those people who gather there and worry about the country and forget the previous day they had filed for asylum. Gawwwd those hypocrites -- double standards. bhandai mero dui sabhda yehi tungyaauchu! :)

I did not try to support any body, I only mentioned about there were some other dancers who had shown their excellent performance than the winners( 1st and second). The third winner was appropriate. We knew the consequences the losing or winning, but we talked about to use the intelligenc for judgment. In my opinion, intelligenc is not how much you know what to do but how you behave when you don't know what to do. Moreover, the judges should forget the relationship or friendship while they were assigned for judging the right person. thank you ..........

Gallant, Kalanki Beta is a nice guy and recently his postings are more eccentric and sarcastic, whatever may be the reason. If you are raising the issue genuinely to uphold these societies created in the name of Nepalis, then, keep on standing what you think is right. Its not only you, others whom I met in the gathering also raised the same issue and were disappointed with the result. Kalanki either just don't know the issue and was just trying to make fun in his drunken (alchoholic) mood, as he says he does not care anything more than free drinks (remember the free drink also comes after you pay the registration fees: well if you were waived the registration fee, then, I don't have anything to say). In order to make these societies functioning at least above thresold level, then such irregularities should be raised and it will be to uphold and enhance these societies. GP http://www.eopinion.org/

Yes, GP Ji, you are telling 100% truth, I am not a person who neither has obnoxious attitudes nor relay the obsessed freaks. I am dreaming: wether we can invent the beautiful Nepalese community that tells truth, directs us (all Nepalese living across the Globe) towards higher productivity ((( it means, teach the systems how to get involved in business and finding skilled jobs, help to people who want to join to the college, moreover teach them the courses or provide them necessary information, guide people by telling the fact about the legal issues, talk about to solve the contemporary problem in Nepal, and much more ))), pushes to the Nepalese government to solve the inconstant political problems, and financial & physical crimes. And, directs young people how to be optimistic in future. I request with all of you to forget about the chakadibadh, natabadh, or pachapatbadh, don't sing a song and applause when political leaders come here to give the fabricate speeches. Still, our community- leaders don't know the cause of being the poorest country in the World, that, prominent and politicians become more corrupted, and government have not paying attention or doing negligence to people's rights and solve the contemporary tasks in Nepal. I heard that a few weeks ago, there was a GANNE-MANNE-gathering in DC, including Rad-Dut and other Barista bhanauda harule bhojgera ani samjsewa ko gafh hakeka thiya. And, 1st Nepalese TV out side the Nepal did broadcast, and has shown their potentialless Anuhar haru. Thank you for your advices and comments.

Peoples will not speak against those involved in this unfair result production are due to following reasons: 1. Its our Nepali attitude to accept corruptions or unfair stuffs done by our own peoples. A Nepali will not spend a minute to defend another corrupt Nepali if there is an involvement of his friend or relatives in these unfair or corruption related activities: His or her answer will be : Yadi timi pani tyaha bhayeko bhe tyahi garthyou, thats it. This statement is a disease in our society. Sajha.com also suffers this Roag. 2. Why should I speak up? Why should I spoil my relation with these peoples, because they are nice to me and I am not gaining or lossing anything because of this unfair event, it happened to someone whom I even don't know from far. At least, they organized the event, I got a chance to make connection with Royal Ambassador, Royal Employees of the Embassy, and by pointing finger towards organizers of the even, you are indirectly making a bad connection with Royal Nepal Embassy officials because these organizers have good relation with Royal Nepal Embassy and they listen to these organizers and you can be a victim of such complains. Keep silence. After all, our Royal N.E. employees expect someone to invite them in such events free of charge ... indirect gesture to keep their mouth shut up. 3. Pessimistic attitude: Yaha bhanera kehi hunna. Jatti sakchou exploit gara, yadi sakchou bhane, sakdainou bhane chuup laga. "Who cares?" attitude. 4. This is beyond our scope attitude. Who am I? I am nothing and who weighs me? kinda attitude. Now, time has changed. Write you few words, words of your dissatisfaction right here in open forums. If you don't want to be victim just because you reported here, then, write as annonymous writer. Only thing, you have to avoid is avoid using any personal names even if you know that the person is involved in the crime against society. Writing a name of the person is offensive and it becomes difficult to solve the problem, especially, when such events are organized by a group of people. That particular person might have excuses and whole blame may return to your for your blame on that particular person. Avoid name calling, so that the good guys inside the community feel ashamed and they me revolt against such wrong doings in future or come forward, in every society there are a few good peoples and the society is alive because of them. So, avoiding use of name will be a way to create a division between good and bad peoples. Keep on hitting the society and lets see the response from them. I remember when I asked about the Nepali diaspora's petition, a guy came here asked me to raise the issue in the officer's email, I did not hear him. When such public affairs come, try to avoid writing in their mailbox, because our heart is not so strong that you can stick to your point when your opponent has 100s of excuses for the mistake he has done, and you will lose your spirit to challenge him/her in future. Keep one step far from him and don't intimidate so that you can always raise the issues that don't satisfy you. If you raise the issue, the opponents will always try to intimidate and solve the problem with you in private. If you intimidate, then the problem will be never solved. Just keep your relation as in biz. If you don't like any intimidation, then they will find ways to put you down and they will desperately try to find your weaknesses and pour venom on you to make you silent. Nabiraunu nadaraunu. Regards. GP http://www.eOpinion.org

The organizers has done a good job organizing the events. My hat off! Many suggestions are worth considering from GP and so on, too. I'm not a leader or for that matter am just a silent viewer. I watched it on STV. Yes the first two or three dances were western-styled ones. And there were a few dancers with Pahadi dresses. I personally also would have voted for the Pahadi girls. On the background a voice was asking, "We should not forget who are etc". 1. The organizer is a businessman selling Nepali AUTHENTIC dishes... if anybody knows who we are he/they should know it. Yes, some of you are jealous of the organizer's personal contact with the Ambassodor. So am I! 2 This is not the first time discrimination has surfaced. Please visit other posts related to caste discrimination. 3. If there are people who really care, it's not too late.. just send them prizes etc. to the ones you think should win(or organize a felicitation event). That is the closest workout I can think of. 4. Best of all, come forward, organize an event and prove it how impartial you can be. While doing so, make sure that dancers who deserve them win the prizes not because they wear Nepali dresses, unless the event is Nepali dress competition. My hat will go off for you too then.

Thank you for your superb Ideas. I am a little classical-liberal guy. Yes, it is true a personal behavior does not match with the group's cuz individual attitude could be more radical. I would like to talk about the group dynamics and interpersonal behavior in small group. How a single person or individual behaves with in-group and out-group? Yes, there is differ between the individual goal and the group goal. A person can't represent or can't be the credibility as a group. Only a person can be a leader. In the past-years, people used to think that community or group meant only manche haruko jamat. It has been fundamental change in the attitude of people towards community. Today, the community is conceived in its totality, that our Chau Umreka communities and organizations should learn. The components of organizations' activities are not just gather people and run program as they like. They need to know that how audiences feel!? It is not just easy to lead the organization, it has more responsible, such as, control of social activities and its pollution, economical crisis, education and awareness, languages and misbehave, and other specialties ........much more .......... The community responsibilities update vastly in the contemporary time, it is not just like to go to Nepali congress or A-male area or neighbor and talk about duty politic. Wonder, if a congress guy inters and roams around in A-male area. how he feels? Let's say you are a man enters in-group of females, how do you feel? Let's say you are heterosexual guy you enter the gay mass. Or, a gay comes in antigay neighbor. Guess, Comfortable or what? Furthermore, how other people talk about that guy, of course there is ambivalent discussions?? isn't it same thing if there is an organization runs from particular people, who don't like to see some other people more smarter or better. It is necessary to understand and makes an environment to each and every person feels free once he/she is in-group. The most important thing that the organizers need to know to how to create the definite goal that gives equality to each individual with in-group or out-group.

Hey Gallant Bro you seem so confused yourself. Your bookish knowledge is overflowing so much that you are not able to make sense out of it. Not Everything that you read in school or college has direct implementation in the real world. Moreover, human brain is such that each individual has some variations in their thought process. So, satisfying everyone with different thinkings, if not impossible is very tedious. And who ever is working towards that goal cheers for them. About the Dance Competition, even if the dancer you thought should have won did win, there would be someone else raising the same question that you are raising right now. It is said that people dont see elephant in their head, but would easily see a lice in others. my point is why can't people be more optimistic? Why can't they see good aspects of things rather than the bad? Its high time that nepalese start working united and stop dividing themselves to make the case worse. Cheers

Like in american idol, it would have been great if they (organizers) would have allowed the audience to vote. This will not only increase the participation, but it will also value the audience. But, organizers have Nepal's Politician Nepali Mentality even after they landed in america and especially, when they want to deal with another nepali issue, they want to have / show some powers. They misuse the power to push their own relatives using public organizations, which is a crime against society and its members. Well, those who come here give lecture that "timi afaile gare bhaihalyo nita" type of excuses: please, bear in mind that such associations when become public stuffs through publicly available membership, the officers don't have right to do whatever they like. If it was their own private company run by using their own private share alones, then they can use whatever they like as long as the share holders are satisfied. The things somepeoples raising the issue here is to be transparent. You can not just close room and comeout and tell "hey, this is our result, whether you like or not, we don't care". The public needs to know why such result was derived? If you can not do things transparently, then, you will be fired and thats why NPPA has rival organization: thats why we have mushroomed organizations? Because the organizations like ANA, NPPA are not transparent, the officers have monopoly and they are not trusted by members. Formation of so many sister organizations (indepdently run) is clear indication of distrust over these organizatiosn who would have firm control over these organizations. Like if ANA was really trustworty organization, NPPA would have been a part (section) of ANA. Similarly, if NPPA officers were trustworthy, then, there could not be another breakway faction? The reason for breakaway faction is clear indication of distrust /mistrust over officer bearers, that should be shameful to them. GP

Basically,I understood that Mr. GP is saying "agree with me or do not say anything against what I said, I do not need being lectured" by using the phrase including word lecture. Did I get you correctly? I notice that rather than concentrating on one prize issue, GP has elaborated the issue to cover all people in the USA. You are right that there are quite a few organizations out there, they are more of reflection of how Nepal has a country id divided, politically, ethnically and culturally, I think the subject is stretched so far that it is worth a new thread.

Yes, my point of view is the same as GP ji! I mentioned to follow the truth. We are in USA, we have the vast different opinions toward our political parties, and politicians back home in Nepal. We don't want to see the discrimination, such as awarding to own people what ever consequence is there, misbehaving the talent or capable people and picking up their own relatives or closed friends. We don't want to discriminate people due to their cast, financial situation (rich and poor), and geographical place they coming from (e: Japha, Ktm, Chitwan, Megdhi, Kaski, or elsewhere). Let's say, here are some organizations that are welcome, cuz they gather people who have similar nature and interest, such as PASA- PUSA, Kaligandaki group, NYO, Radiodovan communication, Sagarmatha team, Phulbari club, Chimeki-gaun, DC athletic group, and much more......... With in DC metro-city, I can't recall all of them. Similarly, there are numerous organizations across the Country, including Canada. Yes, we need different groups, so we can have group dynamics. Let's talk, people from all groups come together and celebrate the special event. We don't fight or rise inter-group tensions and prejudice. It was happened in DC dance, there were some people who were only looking the benefits that comes from audiences, and innocent people they did not know that how they have been misused. I don't want to rise the same issue talking repeatedly, and make them constant ashamed. I know humankind has made mistakes, but has learned the hard lessons and moved on to better times. Unfortunately, neither any improvement comes out so far nor our communities leaders learn devoting to move the better tasks to do good well on behave of Nepal and Nepalese. Nevertheless, our community leaders welcome to those shit-politicans who are the responsible to push our nation into hell, our homeland becomes worsened that ever had in history. Does any community leader banauda haru le Nepal ra Nepali ko problem solving or future goal ko discuss gare ta Nepal ka leaders saga? No, they go to the airport to welcome to corrupted and brainless leaders, and gather people and start giving nonsense and fabricate speeches times and times. I don't need to tell about the LAKHE NACH of Political parties-leaders that is universal truth everybody knows what going on our homeland! The parties are more spliting day by day due to the visionless or goalless. We don't want to copy the same way in here, we want to solve our problems, give good guidance to new generation to be good and make their vision or goal high, clear and fixed. We want to bring all organizations under the same umbrella and move on to better future in USA, (outside Nepal) and homeland as well. GP ji already mentioned that many groups are here required to coordinate, cooperate, and cheer for good, do not pull each other legs. We don't want our organizations act like political parties doing their politic in Nepal. If you have done in Nepal and want to do by the same token, it won't work. Please learn the good lesion here; otherwise, people will still suffer lack of good people to lead the Nepalese organizations fairly. There is still scope in Nepal doing duty politic. But, we don't give shit respect to duty politicians here, we need the FAIR.

Nice views, gallant. But again, the dance competition was partly done for entertainment of the community and of course all other benefits from this were welcome. Rather than looking at it as a solution to the quagmire our country is facing or even an attempt to rectify the problems gone boomerang in Nepal, this is a way to find a home away from home; should this new home have a little different face from the one we have in Nepal, it will not bother me( After all, I have abandoned Nepal at least for 8 years now)! In this context I don't see a big deal if the prizes had been given to losers, but the winners were not worse than the actual losers, anyway. For one thing, just wearing Nepali dress and being able to run around on the stage should not bring one a medal when there were some who could make some fine steps, albeit western! I have nothing more to say than ask you all to try to participate and enjoy the show! Peace!

Yes, testdirector, that was wonderful for me cuz I did enjoy a great deal. I thanked to Sures ji and buddies. They have done great job on Nov, 5th o4, actually I enjoyed dancing at the last resort after DJ started. It is true, people always enjoy listing to music, but the bottom line is weather the judgment was fair? It was noticed, the judgment was ironically different from the audiences thought. I do like the girls who become 1st and second. I do admire their qualities and skills cuz they are unbelievable as well. Earlier, I mentioned about the judgment and much more about societies......&........ their monopoly components. I am knocking to people weather they are in group or out-group, always notice and utter against the bad attitude, lack of knowledge about pre-eminent, insightfulness, unempathetic and so on........ Thank you for letting me know bout ur staying in US, (ya gotta sound interesting,) and so am I. I don't like to talk here personally. If you want, you can e-mail me at yghimiri@cs.com, once again, thanks........... for every thing (comments, ideas, opinion and much more.....)

TestDirector, you said:"but the winners were not worse than the actual losers, anyway". I think the prize was not given based on who was less worst, but, probably based on who was much better. Lets think positively. That competition was not about who was worst, but about who was best. It matters how you weigh events. That sentence is rather an insult to the participants. GP

You posted: In this context I don't see a big deal if the prizes had been given to losers, but the winners were not worse than the actual losers, Well Did you take part in the dance competion on that particular day, ummm I dont think so, so why are u taking smack when you dont ahve the right to say about the dancers who danced. At least they took part and enjoyed themselves, I know everyone wanted to win but they could be only 3 winners and the judeges thought the 3 girls deserved the prizes, so what if the other dancers did not win, they should be talking smack and not you calling them losers, SO i would like to leave by sayign that please don't talk anymore samck and shut leave them alone ok. I did not use the word loser to mean the bad sense it carries. Read the whole of my post replacing "loser" by non-winner, if that helps unsmack the smacked hearts ( I could pretty much say I don't give a damn etc, but I don't). And the sentences were not meant to expose nagative aspects in whatever form. This whole thread carries a sense of negative thinking, to start with. Hey loser MaNepaliHo, shut the hell yourself out of here. I mean it now!
