Don't know about the east coast folks. Too crowded, humid, and dry and unpleasant people. California is awesome but its crowded as well. I think the pacific northwest is the best. Lots of outdoor things to do, nice weather. States I like: WA, OR and CA. WESTSIDE... Peace

I'm from VA, and the 'burbs of Northern VA is a very good place to live. I have lived in a place in Southern VA, delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut, for approximately four years, and I must say that those shotgun-toting, confederate flag waving, pickup truck driving, woman-beating hillbillies are a bunch of bigots. I prefer MD over VA to tell you the truth, partially because most job opportunities in my line of work is found in MD. Northern VA is a good place for educated individuals. Arlington is a haven for liberals. Fairfax is rather centrist. But if you go any more South, VA is basically a bastion for bible thumping, black hating zealots. Plus, since there are so many Military bases in VA, it's no surprise that people are so conservative leaning. The suburbs are always the most livable areas in any part of America. People in the 'burbs are either upwardly mobile or already affluent. This is just my impression from coming in contact withVA suburbanites. California has approximately 40% minorities. All signs are pointing towards a race riot. Mark my words, California will implode in the near future. I base it on some scathing, anti-immigration screeds I have recently stumbled upon on the net, all of which originate in California. Orange County might be a rich place, but it sure is very narrow-minded.

WA and CO are the best... Gorkhadogg is right pacific northwest is awsom. Lived there for 5 years.. people are very friendly, open minded.. and even if some don' t liek foreigners they do not say anything at your face or don't go harming you- unlike in the down south and the EASt where racist ppl say at your face and do stuff to humulate you when they see you dark hair and dark eyes.... Pacific nothwest is beautiful, people are calm and laid back, no show offs, no rush in the life.. eveyone likes outdoors and simple and easy living.. only one drawback is it takes forever for people to accept you.. most communities are small and if you're not born there then you never belong there.. but if you are nice and friendly and open to meet people then you'll make a bunch of nice friends..... I have a very sad expirences with the people from the east.. i will never ever go live in the east.. pretty much everyone from the east i have met are selfish, moody, rude, loud and greedy..... west is the best, Fk the rest;)

Seattle is also known for: Highest suicidal rate in the US and 9 months of rainy season a year. That is a damn wet and depressing state bro. Look at the bands; they speak for themselves. MD is the place. Culturally diverse and close to Nations Capital, where the actions are.
