Gagan is a Royalist: Koirala

Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala today accused Gagan Thapa, former general secretary of the Nepal Students? Union (NSU), of being a Royalist.
Koirala, who came here from Pokhara after disagreement between two factions of the NSU at the 10 Convention, seemed rather aggressive, according to NC activists who met him in the morning.
?Gagan Thapa?s activities were suspicious from the beginning. I know that he (Thapa) is a Royalist,? district level party leaders said quoting Koirala, after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Koirala this morning ruled out possibility of a republican set up in the country at present.
Talking to party workers in Biratnagar he said: "Republic is just a matter of bargaining but its impossible in Nepal. Republic means throwing away of the monarchy but we cannot go against the King. The present situation of the nation is not favourable for the republican set up."
He said there is fear of anarchy and foreign intervention in a republic. Koirala came to his hometown last night without any prior notice. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu tomorrow evening.


What is going on in Nepal, any body have any idea......?? How come a local icon is king's man. As stated by Koirala is Gagan really loyal to king????

So, isn't that funny? Mr Lauda applauds the king and accuses Gagan of being royalist. When he supports the king, even if Gagan is mobilized by the palace, then he should rather have been proud of Gagan. If he does not support the king, then Gagan is barking against the king and again he should have been proud of Gagan.

What I really find funny with these clowns is that given the extent of show Gagan has already exhibited, how in the world would he go back to the king's camp; has he spared anything that saves his face even when he "declares" his hidden role?. I also used to laugh at folks who, in the past, used to whine that Maoists were steered from the palace.

Nonsense! Girija babu needs to learn to control his tongue otherwise it is going to land him in deep shit soon. A person of his stature, as controversial and polarizing as he may be, should really stay away from making such mean-spirited comments about *anyone* , let alone members of his own party.

Until and unless these leaders are removed from the party the movement of any kind will not be successful. Look, it seems Grija is changing colors. He might me next PM under KG.

IN fact the Koirala means "WE ARE NOT DEMANDING FOR REPUBLIC, ITS JUST A BARGAINING POINT TO PRESSURE THE KING TO CALL ME WITH NEW DAURA-SURWAL"

Unlesss undemocratic provision of nominating a large number of central committee member by President/General Secretary changed, corruption and undemocratic dictatorship by President/General Secretary continue. Therefore, there is need of revolution within each party to change all undemocratic provisions and practices than only we could think of democracty in the country because in multiparty democracy, parties are pillars of democracy and unless foundation of these fillars are strengthened it could not drive country in democratic path.

What i see is the fear of clash, idealogical, that Girja trying to avoid. I see the comments as cheap as Ratnaparkko Bhalu. at teh same time the comments by Girja suggests that he is jealous of Gagans popularity and boldness. Girija sounds if he is scared of loosing his party that is about to spin out of his control, and he should be.
What I also see in Girija's commetns are " aba ta nasakine bho", and the worry that now Gagan will again win the election for whatever they are doing in Pokhara. I am sure every one read the other news related that convention that , Gundas disrupting the convention. I believe it is Girija and his aashe pashes genuine effort to not let youth leaders such as Gagan to rise within the party, as that is surely going to knock off Girijas hasne front row teeth from his mouth.

On the other hand i beleive by such cheap remarks , Grija is expressing his desperation to cling on to whatever he has, "yeuta dhotiko sarko nai sahi', and i will not be surprised tomorrow if we hear Girija Accepted the mantri role following Prakash Koirala. Marne belama ke ko tan tan, yo parti re, chunab re, maoist re, aba hunda hunda ta Gagane pani re. AAnandale khutta tankauna paye kina chodne bhanne bichar. And i has more and more become evident that the older generation congressis are considering the newer generation as a threat to the party itself, well let us not say the party itself, but let's say their position in the party. But i will not be surprised again, if Girija and the older congressi start a new Nara, Gagane Chor Congress Chod, in the name of Party bachaune abhiyan.

नेविसंघको महाधिवेशनमा हिंसात्मक झडप

पोखरामा भइरहेको नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघको दशौं महाधिवेशनको तेस्रो दिन, मंगलबार, महाधिवेशन स्थलमा थप तनाव सिर्जना भई कुटपिट र तोडफोड भएपछि महाधिवेशनको कारवाही अगाडि बढ्न सकेन।
मतदाता नामावलीमा संघको संस्थापन पक्ष र असन्तुष्ट पक्ष बिचको सोमबार शुरू भएको विवाद झन् चर्केपछि निर्धारित कार्यक्रम हुन नसकेको हो।

मुलुकका विद्यार्थी शक्तिहरू आन्दोलनमा भएको समयमा भइरहेको महाधिवेशनको प्रमुख एजेन्डा नै संघको नयाँ नेत्तृत्व चयन र राजनैतिक सांगठनिक कार्यदिशा निर्धारण गर्नुरहेको थियो।

तर दुई पक्षमा विभाजित संघका विद्यार्थी कार्यकर्ताहरूले महाधिवेशनको बन्द सत्रमा बसेर विवादको छिनोफानो गर्न सकेनन्।

महाधिवेशन स्थल दिपेन्द्र सभागृहमा दुई पक्षका बिच भएको झडपमा निर्वाचन समितिका दुई सदस्य सहित झण्डै एक दर्जन विद्यार्थीहरू घाइते भएका थिए।

उत्तेजित समुहले सभागृहमा तोडफोड , तीनवटा मोटरसाइकलमा आगजनी गर्नुका साथै महाधिवेशनका कागजपत्रहरू फालिदिएका थिए।

यी घटनाका लागि नेपाल विद्यार्थी संगठनको संस्थापन र असन्तुष्ट पक्षले एक-अर्कामाथि दोषारोपण गरेका छन्।

नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघका महामन्त्री वासु कोइरालाले भन्नुभयो, "यसमा अधिवेशन बहिष्कार गर्नेहरूकै संलग्नता भएको जस्तो लाग्छ।"

तर असन्तुष्ट पक्षका नेता गगन थापाले भन्नुभयो, "बन्द सत्रमा मेरो राजनीतिक प्रस्ताव राख्?न नदिएकोले खुला ठाउँमा राख्दै थिएँ,त्यतिबेला ममाथि प्रहार भयो।"

नेपाली कांग्रेस समन्वय विभागका प्रमुख तथा नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघको महाधिवेशन हेर्ने पार्टी संयन्त्रका संयोजक दिलबहादुर घर्ती तोडफोडको घटनामा संघका विद्यार्थीको संलग्नता रहेको अस्विकार गर्नुहुन्छ।

श्री घर्तीले भन्नुभयो, "यो षडयन्त्र विद्यार्थीको तर्फबाट होइन, बाहिरी तत्वबाट भएको हो।"

महाधिवेशनलाई अगाडि बढाउने वा नबढाउने निर्णय लिन पार्टी संयन्त्रको बैठक बसेको थियो तर मंगलबार साँझसम्म पनि कुनै निर्णय बाहिर ल्याइएको थिएन।

पुर्व निर्धारित कार्यक्रम अनुसार मंगलबार निर्वाचन कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न गरि महाधिवेशन समाप्त गरिने योजना थियो।

संघको यो विवादले आन्दोलित विद्यार्थी शक्तिलाई मात्र होइन स्वयं राजनीतिक दलको आन्दोलनलाई पनि प्रतिकुल असर पर्ने टिप्पणी पर्यवेक्षकहरूले गरेका छन्।

Well said brother. It sounds like you have Love/hate relationship with Girja. Girja and his chor knows their days are numbered. The whole world knows what they did was the worst incident in our history. No wonder public support is not there anymore.

kangressi at lower level are frustated with their mentors with opportunity to the Kursi and Kalo Gadi. So soon to be "Kallywood actor" like Gagan crafting a movement to establish their own identity. Which is a real threat to Girjadom.

I dont like any politician. But I am glad there is someone challenging Girja. Hope we can see some changes within.

Not taking any sides, but Gagan was classmate in Ascol...
he was seen hanging around with bishnu[dada ji] and Paras[Prince],
and may be that's why some say he is opportunist.
He really has become popular now against Royalist theme... but may be Girija doesn't trust him well enough.

Did Gagan ever sudy in ASCOL, I thought he studied in TC

then he dropped and went to TC
I became his senior when i went to TC and of course thats where he started to get really in politics. He tried for "President" position but Hari dai was in TC for years and became the President.
Anywho, I met him before I left for the US in '98 and then after few years, heard more about him and his news...

what i meant was he was trying to run for president, but all wanted Hari dai to be president as Hari dai was in TC for many years. So Gagan ran for treasurer. In fact he ran as treasurer from both sides. There were two sides of NeBiSangh that year...weird

Please send Girija Musa Marne Dabai............Let him take this as soon as possible...
