What I am wondering now is about the aftermath of this video.
My question is: Now that the damage has been done regarding the regular customer base who might have vowed never to return to that store, how is the store going to win them back? Is the store going to put an ad in the daily newspaper that the particular incident was actually an ABC investigation or something and therefore everything is fine and dandy?
That kind of study is pretty bold, I must admit, because it jeopardizes the usual revenue stream of the store at least in the short term because the affected customer might never return.
I must confess that she herself is a natural bomb no need to hyde bombs in the boobs.
My prayer is: Swayambhu ko duita aakha le nyaye anyaye chhutai herun!
Sorry Lootekukur or whatever your name is....do u mind typing the correct spelling for the topic atleast... at first I was like what did that word meant... Thanks
hydie, clearly racial discrimination is more plaintive and chronic form of discrimination in the US than gender or other discriminations else why would anyone doubt that someone who already is a 'bomb' may also possess other bomb objects. LOL
i guess the abc team must have revealed themselves to those infuriated or other customers right after they got out of the store so that no harm was done to the store's reputation in the end. but i agree it's a bold show as some may walk out quietly without knowing it was just an experimental study.
spring, it's not always what it seems like. :P
pjna, it certainly has the making of some prank show in the beginning...but unlike a prank show, in this the people who showed their discriminatory behavior would not want to face the camera and the crew ever again. good that abc decided to blur or hide their ignorant faces hahaha
I_AM_Nepali, ignorance is not always a bliss now is it? :P...'Moslem' is just another word for 'Muslim' although the former is not used as often so i will give you on that :D
lol who care what they do to muslim or black only problem is when they hurt nepali then we sud put that news in here not about other .... we have to much problem in our own country no time for other to worry....
HAHAHAHa metalgal, what if they refuse to serve you telling you that you look like one bad-ass maoist insurgent ? in a just society, everyone gets the basic rights and equal opportunity to prosper regardless of their race/color/gender. a society which has one form of prejudice can also have other prejudices and some of them may be against you or your cause because you're a part of that very society.
now go take a glassful of milk from the fridge and go to your bed like a good baby ;P
I would not mind defending people when they are being discriminated but not when they come to a new country and still stick stuff which makes them easily stands out.
I have always felt threatned with people who cover themselves too much.
Respect to the people who stood for the muslim lady but my respect also goes out to the salesman- the muslim needs to know that they need to integrate and not 4uking segregate !!!
i_nepali, one of the beauties of this 'free' country is it allows people to wear, eat, speak, or do anything long as they are not malignant to others. now who are we to tell them to remove hijab or whatever they want to/do wear? i don't see a rationale behind judging people by what they wear or what they believe in? we can't expect everyone to become an atheist or a non-believer, can we?
and regarding you finding people-- who cover themselves too much--potentially scary, let me tell you this on a frivolous note: remove that stupid boxer that you're wearing under your pant...what are you hiding and where you hiding big boy???
zingkira, you completely missed the point. where in this video or in my postings, Islam's been advocated ? and what does how other women are treated in Saudi Arabia has anything to do with Moslems' right in the US to wear and believe in what they want without being judged by the prejudiced society?
understand what the thread is talking about before firing your keyboard for your reply!
some people can never stop complaining with a running nose!! So if some Nepalese brothers got butcherd in iraq we we should turn a blind eye to any other injustice that happens elsewhere and just keep thinking of that iraq incident, right?
You are a human first, then comes your nationality!!
it just shows how justice loving and kind some Americans are, period
it's just that they can't stand the f1 visa or some potential immigrant. but once you're a green card or a citizen they will always step up and protect you and your rights...
it's a great country.. i love that older gentleman who defended the girl... god bless him... blessed are the ones who got to or are getting to assimilate into this great society...
देश अनुसार को भेष नगरे यही हुन्छ। अमेरिका मा बसेर कट्टर muslim को पहिचान के का लागी? किन दिनु?
In the video, Atleast there were some americans to support her. A girl was even arguing/crying for her muslim friend. Should any american expect such generous support in a muslim community.
basic human rights should never be taken away from anyone. I am an atheist but still believe that people have the right to religion. As long as they are not hurting or offending others, why would you discriminate?...It's sad to see such kind of incidents where people do not speak up for others' rights. I mean it could be anyone at that girl's place.
