I have a US undergrad degree with 5 years of experience in IT.  After living here for 8 years I still don’t have green card and with the current economy, it does not look like I’ll get one soon.  I’ve applied for Canada PR and would like some info about Canada.  How is it different from US and most important, how difficult it is to get job on my field?  If anyone has any experience they would like to share than it will be good help for me.

Thanks.

Did you visit this site ?

If you submitted after Feb 2009 then you will require. You will be getting state PCC request from CIC very soon. Good Luck.

Believe me you don't require it. Just to confirm, you can email

Alberta Provincial Nominee Program

immigration.info@gov.ab.ca  and find out about it.

guys for the AINP you don't need anything just the AINP form and the copy of the filled CIC forms once you have the AINP approved then you need all the forms plus the application fees for the PR. AINP is nothing but the province of Alberta recommending that you qualify for the nomination of migrating to Canada.

Before it was a points system most of the folks did not qualify under the point system so they came up with this new form of program to attract more immigrants..

It is good to have the backup but I am pretty sure that once you get nominated and apply your CIC the whole process will take a year and you can delay it by another year just to make sure you are ready for migrating.

Also if you work for a canadian company, you can be in any part of the world and meet their requirement for renewal which is you must have stayed in Canada for at least 3 yrs out of 5. SO if there are consultancies in Canada you can do C2C and work here in the US. My friends stay in Canda but come to work in Detroit so they are maintaining their status that way also. Just another option.

Again Good luck to all who have applied.
