hmmmm thats not a representation of whole America. where was this experiment done maybe in some small town. many ppl were defending her . so i guess they r treated well as a whole. there are some ppl who are prejudiced. but i wonder if they had done it in NY or some other liberal state it would be very different. good show 

The real takeaway for me is the sense of outrage amongst people who stepped up and raised their voices against injustice on a complete stranger. That's the America I admire. There will always be nut cases and losers like some of those shown in the video but I am surprised that in a society where people generally like to stick to their own business, so many chose to speak up and confront the issue.

I can't say for certain how Muslims are treated, but from this video what I can tell is that you can't get away forever with treating people, Muslims or otherwise, badly in this country.

you sound like one islamophobic but failed to learn and realize that the term 'islamophobia' is deceptive and the phobia is actually illogical.

the world media is saturated with the terms islamic fundamentalism, islamic radicalism and islamic terrorism, causing all the havoc or negative backlash against believers of the religion. we need to separate 'islamic' out of these generally unwelcome terms. maybe the discontent is not with the islam, but with the very bad aspects associated with the religion. negative stereotypes abound because the majority of those perpetrating world terrorism such as al qaeda are Moslems.

but does it mean that all the people in islam have to bear the responsibility for the unruly characteristics of some of the people in the religion, who have nothing to do with the moderate lots? certainly not! it may be only a coincidence that the majority of world terrorists are Moslems. it's not ethical to associate islam with the unruly characteristics followed by some of its less moderate believers!

learn something about islam before making your stupid ignorant comments here, foolio!

i mean no advocacies for islam but no disrespect to the religion either. but from what i have learnt, some of the fundamentalists have mis-interpreted Koran. A few selected verses from the Koran are often misquoted to perpetuate the myth that islam promote violence, and extorts its followers to kill those outside the pale of the islam. some of those verses were created when Moslems were waging a war against the Mushriqs or Pagans of Makkah and hence those hate ensuing quotes. but one has to learn and comprehend the essence of Koran in depth to understand that it does not actually relay vehement hatred towards other believers. A little knowledge is dangerous.

fair point. in fact, i was thinking the same. cannot generalize this study for the whole of the US as the sample population was not distributed throughout all regions, states and cities. but it's certainly a teaser for sure.

HAHAHA birbhadra, no i don't claim to be an expert. and yes, this thread was about how part of america stand up against injustice-- neither the video nor this thread was meant to advocate any particular religion or race but some islamophobics in here dragged the discussion to the utter disgust of insinuating their lopsided hatred against islam as a religion and that's why i had to chime in. as i said, i am neither advocating nor defending islam but merely giving a shot at opening the eyes of those hate-mongering blinds.

there are hundreds of videos on youtube and on the web which have--deliberately or ignorantly--brewed potion of anger and hatred against islam without telling the full story of the religion. i just wanted to point them out--nothing more or nothing less either. there are fundamentalists in all religions, just the degree of extremism is variant. let's assume, if tomorrow, some of the extremists of  the religion that those islamophobics believe in, start spreading rumors and hatred against other believers, will they come to defend their religion? i am sure they will. talk of hypocrisy and double standards! it's not always what it seems like from outside. inside stories could be radically different.
