Protest in NY seems aimless. Think seriously - What is the agenda? What do we demand? Major issues are:

State of emergency - lifted.

Freedom of speech - what else do we want as news media are writing any thing they want and no more censorship is imposed?

Release of captives leaders - most of them released except Gagan Thapa. He might as well be released by the time.

Revert back to democracy - how? By handing over power to whom? to Congress or communists or caolition - don't you think these options already exhusted? Eelction? - King promised to hold election in given time. Reinstatement fo Parliament? power sharing through that old equation in disolved parliament failed and led to disolvement of parliament of then elected PM. Supreme Court has rejected it before. Handing over to Maoists? - isn't that going to be suicidal attempt!

Release of Deuba and party - Is this a major issue? Let the Supreme Court decide on their fate.

Constitutional assembly - why should we support Maoists demand?

Bring peace and stability - is this demand be directed towards King only? or agitating political parties and Maoists as well?

Human rights - What will be the real issue when UN body itself deployed it's monitors.

It seems like we are just trying to protest for the sake of doing so without any substantive demands?

Here is the issue I dun believe king infect I dun trust anyone to run the country as head of state who is not elected by people.
That is bottom line. I don?t know what other people would be demanding in NY City but I would be there for republican democracy. I am not going to NY City to beg my right with king. I am going there to say that time for monarchy system is up either leave the power peacefully or you would be forced out.

I belive protest starts around 11 am on 16th sept but as i said i would post when i know more details about it

I think nepali people do not need any king. King has done nothing better to sholve even one problem in nepal eversince he got that shreepech. That was his motto to get it somehow and now he has it and he takes that for granted.

More inocent people are dying now than everbefore, there is starvation going on in diffrent parts of nepal, there are no development or anything is taking place. Nepali economy is going downfall. So what is the use of king?????

Why should I when his son give birth of kid we the people have to pay his grand son 8 laks but when a poor person gives birth his/she has to make cut in order to feed newly born kid.
