पृथ्वीको गुरूत्वाकर्षणले तानेको एउटा युवा

भानुभक्त काठमाडौं, फागुन ९ 

यो काम सफल होला या नहोला। तर, तपाईंको लगाव र मिहिनेत अद्‌भूत छ। सरकारले के सहयोग गर्नुपर्छ, म पहल गर्छु-मुख्य सचिव

‘नचाहिने काम गर्ने तँ जस्तो गोरु संसारमा अरु कोही छैन्,’ बुबाले उनलाई भनिरहन्थे।

बुबा मात्र किन ? साथीभाइ, चिनेजानेका पनि भन्थे, ‘नचाहिने काममा किन टाउको दुखाइरहेको होला।’

तर यस्ता प्रतिक्रियाले ललितपुर नख्खुका किशोर केसीलाई कहिल्यै छोएन। पछिल्ला ८ वर्षदेखि उनी त्यही  ‘नचाहिने’ काममा निरन्तर लागिरहेका छन्।

पृथ्वीको गुरुत्त्व बलबाट बिजुली निकाल्ने। संसारमा अहिलेसम्म नभएको यो कामका लागि समय मात्रै होइन, उनले उमेर र पैसा पनि धेरै खर्चिइसकेका छन्।

धितोमा राखेको नख्खुको उनको घर लिलामीको मुखमा छ। त्यसका लागि घर खालि गर्न बैंकले चिठी काटेको छ।

कुमारीपाटीमा उनको गरिखाने बाटो ‘अनलाइन क्याफे’ले चार महिनादेखि घरको भाडा तिर्न सकेका छैन।आउँदो वैशाखदेखि सटर खाली गर्न घरबेटीले उर्दी दिएका छन्। र, पनि उनको हौसला टुटेको छैन। उनी लागिरहेकै छन्। उनी विश्वस्त छन्- गुरुत्त्व बलबाट बिजुली निकाल्न सकिन्छ।

किशोर पाटन क्याम्पसमा आइकम पढ्दा-पढ्दै पैसा कमाउन भनी दुबई हान्निए। दुबईमा उनले राम्रै काम पाए- कम्प्युटर अपरेटर। श्रीमतीलाई पनि उतै बोलाए। साथीभाइ, सम्बन्ध सबै राम्रै थियो।

तीन वर्ष काम गरेपछि उनले सोचे- कत्ति अरुको काम गर्नु, आफ्नै अनलाइन क्याफे खोल्छु।

उनीसँग अलिकति पैसा पनि थियो। आइटीमा ज्ञान पनि। तर दुबईको रापमा उनको व्यापार सुरु नै हुन सकेन।

०६१ सालमा उनी स्वदेश फर्किए। उनले सपना दुबईमै छाडेर आएका थिएनन्। स्वदेश फर्किएर ललितपुरको कुमारीपाटीमा उनले अनलाइन क्याफे खोले।

क्याफे राम्रै चल्यो।

०६५ सालतिर लोडसेडिङ दिनमा अठार घन्टासम्म पुग्यो। जेनरेटर चलाउन डिजेल पाउनै मुस्किल। डिजेल पाइने पम्पमा जर्किन लाइनमा लगाउनु पर्थ्यो। एकदिन लाइनमा जर्किन राखेर फर्किएका उनी पम्पमा पुग्दा डिजेल बाँड्नु त कता हो कता, लाइनमा राखिएको जर्किनलाई कसैले लात्ताले हानेर हुर्‍याइदिएछ।

बत्ती नभएपछि क्याफे दिनदिनै घाटामा गयो। बिजुलीको विकल्प उनीसँग थिएन। साइबरमा बसेर सोच्थे– नेपालमा विद्युत् छैन, डिजेल पाइँदैन, सौर्य ऊर्जामा पनि खासै चासो छैन।

उनको ‘नचाहिने’ काममा घुमिरहने दिमागले सोच्यो– पृथ्वीको गुरुत्त्व बलबाट विजुली बाल्न सकिन्छ कि? उनी त्यसैमा घोरिए र निष्कर्ष निकाले– पृथ्वीको गुरुत्त्व बल प्रयोग गरेर टर्बाइन घुमाउन सकिन्छ।

क्याफेको काम छोडेर उनी बिजुली र गुरुत्त्व बलबारे अध्ययन गर्न थाले। साथीभाइलाई फुरेको आयडिया सुनाए।

‘पिएचडी गरेका, अमेरिका पढेका कस्ता-कस्ताले गर्न नसकेका काम तिमी गर्न सक्छौ?’ साथीभाइलाई उनको कल्पना फगतको लाग्थ्यो।

तर उनलाई विश्वविद्यालयको सर्टिफिकेट नभए पनि दिमागमा घुमेको कुरा गरेरै छोड्छु भन्ने लाग्थ्यो। साइबरमा बसेर उनले गुरुत्त्व बल विद्युत्‌सम्बन्धी गहन अध्ययन गरे।

त्यसो त उनको दिमागमा टेक्नोलोजीका विषयमा देखिने समस्या समाधान गर्न उपाय फुरिहाल्थ्यो। उनको साइबरमा विद्यार्थी कलेज बंक गरेर आउँथे। टर्मिनल इक्ज्यामका मार्कसिटमा पास बनाइदिन आग्रह गर्थे। कलेजको ‘फि स्लिप’मा रकम बढाइ दिन भन्थे।

उनको आम्दानी बढ्थ्यो। तर उनलाई धेरैको जीवन बर्बादी भएजस्तो लाग्थ्यो। उनले सोचे– कलेजका विद्यार्थीको जानकारी इन्टरनेटमा राख्न सके!  ‘इ-एटेन्ड्यान्स’ गर्न सके! छोराछोरीबारे अभिभावकले घरमै बसेर जान्न पाए!

उनले सोचेनन् मात्र, गरेर पनि देखाए। ती समस्या समाधान गर्न सबै व्यवस्था भएको ‘सिस्टम’ उनले तयार पारे। काठमाडौंको नासा कलेजमा त्यो सिस्टम लागू पनि भयो। ‘तर कलेजले सर्तबमोजिम पैसा दिएन,त्यसैले काम अघि बढाइनँ,’ केसीले अधुरै छाडेको एउटा योजनाबारे भने।

तर यसले उनलाई फेरि गुरुत्त्व बलबाट बिजुली निकाल्ने काममै केन्द्रित गरायो। उनी आफ्नो ‘आइडिया’ बोकेर सरोकारवाला सरकारीहरू धाए।

नेपाल विज्ञान प्रविधि प्रतिष्ठान (नास्ट) पुगे, विज्ञानसम्बन्धी काम गर्ने सरकारका अरु संस्था पनि गुहारे। जतिलाई उनले आफ्नो आइडिया सुनाए- सबै जिब्रो टोक्थे, मुख बिगार्थे। उनलाई कर्के नजरले हेरेर आफ्नो काममा फर्कन्थे।

नास्टमा त उनी दुई हप्तासम्म धाए। बल्लतल्ल एक प्राज्ञले उनको सबै कुरा त्यो पनि किस्ता किस्तामा सुने। उनले ‘सिस्टम’ कसरी चल्छ भन्ने चुरो कुरा बताइसकेपछि ती प्राज्ञले कुरो टुंगो लगाउँदै भने,‘ए, यस्तो त जर्मनीमा पढ्दा मेरो एकसाथीले पनि भन्थ्यो।’

केसीको आइडिया ती प्राज्ञका लागि साथीले सुनाएको एउटा ‘गफ’ बन्यो।

उनले कतैबाट पनि प्रोत्साहन र सहयोग पाएनन्। धाउन पनि छाडे। सोचेको कुरा गरी छाड्ने निश्चयमा पुगेका उनले घर बन्धकी राखे र बैंकबाट निकालेको सबै रकम त्यसमै लगाए।

उनकै शब्दमा गुरुत्त्वबलबाट विद्युत् निकाल्ने काम अहिले ९० प्रतिशत सकिएको छ। तर उनको जायजेथा भने लगभग शतप्रतिशत सकिइसकेको छ। बिजुली ननिस्केसम्म उनको कामले कुनै तात्विक अर्थ राख्दैन।

शुक्रबार सेतोपाटी केसीकहाँ पुग्दा नेपाल सरकारका मुख्यसचिव लीलामणि पौडेल पनि त्यहीँ भेटिए। केसीले ८ वर्षदेखि निरन्तर गरिरहेको मिहिनेतको उनी प्रशंसा गरिरहेका थिए।

अनलाइन क्याफेको कुनामा रहेको केसीको प्रयोगशाला अवलोकनपछि पौडेलले केसीसँग भने- यो काम सफल होला या नहोला। तर, तपाईंको लगाव र मिहिनेत अद्‌भूत छ। सरकारले के सहयोग गर्नुपर्छ, म पहल गर्छु।

केसीको अनुहारमा अलिकति उज्यालो छरियो। मुख्यसचिवका कुराले उनी दंग देखिन्थे। मुस्कुराउँदै सेतोपाटीसँग उनले कारण खुलाए- मलाई सहयोग गर्छु भन्नुभयो भनेर होइन। उहाँले मेरो कामको मूल्यांकन गरिदिनु भयो। आजसम्म धेरैले मलाई नचाहिने काममा लागेको मात्र भन्थे।

मुख्यसचिव पौडेल मात्र होइन, नास्टका वैज्ञानिक सुरेश ढुंगेल पनि त्यहीँ थिए। ‘केसीको काम सफल भए यो ब्रेकथ्रु हुनेछ,’ उनको प्रतिक्रिया थियो। मुख्यसचिव सरोकारवाला निकायका अधिकारीहरुसहित पुगेका रहेछन्।

वातावरण, विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि मन्त्रालय सहसचिव महेन्द्रमान गुरुङले ‘कसरी हुन्छ, केसीको युनिक कामलाई सहयोग गर्ने’ बताए।

यी तिनै मन्त्रालयका अधिकारी थिए, जुन मन्त्रालयमा पटकपटक धाउँदा पनि उनले सहयोग त के ‘हाकिमहरू’सँग भेट्नसमेत पाएका थिएनन्। शुक्रबार अवस्था उल्टो थियो। सरकारी अधिकारीहरू नै काममा उत्साह बढाउन  उनकै प्रयोगशाला आएका थिए।

 केसी ३४ वर्षका भए। श्रीमती, १ छोरी र १ छोरा छन्। उनीहरू सबैलाई बुबाको त्यो नचाहिने काम कहिले पूरा हुन्छ भन्ने प्रतीक्षा छ।

‘छोराछोरीलाई यो काम सकेपछि नयाँ लुगा उपहार दिने वाचा गरेको छु,’ केसी भन्छन्, ‘उनीहरू दिनदिनै सोधिरन्छन्- बाबा त्यो मेसिनबाट बिजुली कहिले निस्कन्छ?’

उनले वाचा छोराछोरीलाई मात्र होइन। ‘नचाहिने काम गर्ने गोरु’को उपमा दिने अनि समय मिले कति काम सक्यो भनेर हेर्न आउने उनका बिरामी बुबालाई पनि गरेका छन्। उनको इच्छा छ, कुनै दिन पिताले भनून्- गोरुले नयाँ अविष्कार गरेछ।

त्यसभन्दा पनि ठूलो वाचा उनले आफैँसँग गरेका छन्- नेपाली भूमिबाट विश्वलाई नौलो लाग्ने अविष्कार दिने।

त्यही वाचाबीच अहिले झट्ट हेर्दा केसीको जीवन ‘क्लाइमेक्स’मा आइपुगे जस्तै लाग्छ। उनी आफैँ पनि ८ वर्षको मेहनत अन्तिम चरणमा पुगेको बताउँछन्।

‘राम्ररी काम गर्न पाए एक वर्षभित्र गुरुत्त्व बलबाट बिजुली बाल्न सकिन्छ,’ उनी ढुक्क छन्।

तर ३५ दिनमा बैंकले घर लिलामी गर्दैछ। अर्को महिना क्याफे चलाएको घर छोडने उर्दी छ। यी तनावचाहिँ कसरी सकिन्छ, उनी ढुक्कसँग भन्न सक्दैनन्। सायद यतातिर सोच्ने फुर्सद उनलाई छैन।

Nas, the guy in the video you posted must be a partner of our Mr. K.C. Not sure if you watched the whole thing, but if you did, I am sure you realized the absurdity of the claim.
His machine works on the principal of falling mass (due to gravity), which in turn rotates fly-wheel etc. Fine. Then what? How does the mass go back up? Or do you have continued source of masses falling from top to bottom, much like a hydropower (where water is flowing downstream constantly)?

Encouraging this kind of thing is giving false hopes. Comparing him to Galileo is not just insulting Galileo but the study of science itself.

Hope you understand my frustration with these kinds of claims. I respect your giving benefit if doubt to the "inventors," but the face value of the claims almost insult the Scientific understanding. Let me elaborate.

First and foremost, there is no such thing as perpetual machine. Google Besslers fly wheel, that was the closest anybody got to making others believe and that was a hoax.

Law of Conservation of Energy state energy cannot be created not destroyed. Like I said earlier, gravitation might bring the mass down but what would take the same mass up? How do you create energy to lift the mass up to complete the cycle?

Let's look at the gravity light. As the mass (rocks or dead weight) pull the string down, it generates electricity, but a rock can't keep going down. It has to go up somehow to complete the cycle. In cast of gravity light, a human intervention is required. After 20-30 mins, somebody has to lift the stone up.

Like we said, hydro power primarily works because of the gravitational energy. As water flows down due to gravity (change in PE), it rotates turbine. Luckily we have continued source of water so that we don't need to bring the water up mechanically. What medium is the inventor using?

Unless u have continued source of a medium, gravity alone will NOT work.

The work by Romanian "inventor" was done around 2010; why then it hasn't been mass produced? Why are we wasting our time and money chasing after hydro, fossil or other sources of energy? Just because it was in Romanian national tv, doesn't give it any credence; unless we are shown how it works. I have seen some prototypes of his machine and they simply shouldn't work perpetually.

I am still discussing this because of two reasons. Well first it insults scientific rigors required to justify a mechanism. Second people like KC are wasting their time and money, and possibly others too, by chasing unscientific and ludicrous methods. I find it a little sad, frankly.

Wouldn't it be nice if the engine in the car/ motorcycle keeps running on its own "thanks to gravitational force"? The energy crisis in the world would come to screeching halt and oil companies will go bankrupt, oil rich sheiks in middle easts would be forced on their knees and lot of environment activists will be jobless as well since they will have not much to protest against and harp about energy crisis, diminishing arctic ice cap in big seminars.

When I was a little kid I used to dream of catching an aeroplane and lock it in my little cabinet, because it looked so small flying in the sky and I had never seen a real aeroplane up close back then to realize how massive those tiny looking flying objects were.

No offense, but that youtube video on japanese car running on water was posted in 2008 and there are comments on that video from people wondering WTF has the inventor been doing since then. Since there is no trace of such a marvelous thing in the world.

That video from india of a mechanic from madhya pradhesh pouring water into the car also talks about carbide. If you took organic chemistry in ISc or +2 then you must have read that when you pour water into carbide it release acetylene gas which is highly combustible. It is the same gas that is used in the auto shops for welding if you have visited any auto shops in nepal.

The video Fox news video talks about HHO gas. From what I can say the guy is not so well versed in chemistry. It is basically Hydrogen and Oxygen. Hydrogen and oxygen do not react with each other just like that. But when they do inthe process of combustion, it is an exhothermic reaction that releases heat and H2O. But to break down molecules of H2O into 2H and O2 it takes electrolysis process, which requires electricity, Basically it is the electric energy used in breaking the bond between hydogen and oxygen in water that gets released when they combine back.

Basically for all general purpose Newtonian physics
Force = Mass x Acceleration
Energy = Force x Distance
Mass has to be moved to generate force, be it in form of working fluid like air for wind turbines, hydropower turbine or even nuclear power plants or in the video in the post where they hang a stone that decends over half an hour. And energy is outcome of using that force.

Lesson that I learned is that, so far there is no free ride for anything. Just like everything else in the world. Sadly there were only so many dianosaurs and other creatures from that age that died and turned on petroleum that we have today. Cars have been around for only a century or so and earth is already facing energy crisis and global warming. Hopefully someday there will some miracle like that they had during the days of Ramayana when Rawan crossed the ocean in his Pushpak Biman.

Work = Force X Distance, not Energy; but I agree with most of your point.

Apologies for mixing up the work done and energy (potential to get the work done). Been so long since I got out of high school that I do not recall the things clearly except that both could be measured in Joules or Calories or WattHr.

I am all up for cheering anyone who can come up with the way to allow me to drive to work for free or for that matter solve the energy crisis in Nepal and the world.
