I saw this one in ebay. I am not sure it is worth that much, though. I also own it, and I paid something below thirty dollars when I bought it. There might be other coins in KTM, where people will be willing to sell for less. http://cgi.ebay.com/Nepal-Prithvi-Narayan-Mohar-Extremely-Rare-Type-1763_W0QQitemZ320073630866QQihZ011QQcategoryZ534QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

I am not sure the price will be that high soon. Like I said, I bought a Prithvi coin ( I have two such coins of Prithvi Narayan) for about thirty dollars not so long ago. I wouldn't recommend Sajha users to pay that high. I just think it would be surprising if some foreigner buys the coin for that much. I was about to buy a book, published in Janga Bahadur's time, long ago in ebay. The price of that book shocked me, it sold for more than 400 dollars. That book was the highest priced book on Nepal I have ever known. The book was called something like History of Nepal, and was a translation of vanshawali.

This coin is at least worth the silver it is made of. Some people enjoy collecting old coins, and I am one of them. I own coins from Anshubarma time, Malla dynasty and so on. I also happen to have Prithvi Narayan coins (and coins from all Shah kings). But you are right, if you are not into collecting the coins, it might not mean much. On the other hand, rarity is something very few people (with money, and appreciation for civilization) appreciate, and are willing to pay for. Imagine how many coins there are left from anshubarma or prithvi narayan era? So, these coins are worth at least some thing more than silver inherent in them. How much? we don't know. Demand and supply will determine.

Unfortunately I don't have a scanner. But those interested in collecting coins should have them or at least know that there are a plenty of Licchavi coins around. I was this close to getting Mananka, (Manadev's coin) and I have another coin from king Shivasingh Dev or something like that who became king after anshubarma.
