Dear Mehta ji,
You seem to be an intellectual writer . However, I see a lot of theories (with out any proof ) in your article. Few Questions:
1. How can you assume that Nepalese are submissive? Mind you Nepal is not sikkim .
2. How can you be deadsure that this is the grand design of India. Well, its clear to everyone about India's big brother nature and regional "dadagiri" but to wipe out the entire royal family India too needs gut. Also, you can see if it was submissive nature that India wanted then they could have marched army inside nepal during 2007-2017 (as they did in Sikkim, also in some part of Punjab I guess , not to mention about kashmir) when nepal was too vulnerable and India was in the mood of annexions? In todays world , India should know that there are a lot of players not just India when Nepal is concerned . Atleast China has its own interest. I believe Indian diplomats are not so foolish to dream so.
If you talk about our diplomacy . Nepal's Panchasel theory is better. Well, I accept that there were few diplomats who didn't deserved the positions. But you cannot blame the whole nation for this.
4. Yah , it is sure that when there is transition phase a lot of players try their luck . Terai unrest can be seen as a part of this. May be there are interests of India too . But to remind you , those portions of Nepal terai is linked with Bihar area where even India has not been able to take care of .
So even though there are some instances in which you will find Nepal to be weaker . But you can not just say it a failed state or foolish state.
Ok one serious question, when India and Pakistan were separated , you know about all those blood sheds. The situation of Nepal is nothing compared to that . We are aware that these pretty small differences doesn't remain long, at least if there is no funding from outside against it . what matters is the long term wound, which we will never let happen . You can see that when there was attack by the so called mathesis towards so called pahades. The people in hills didn't reply back . coz' they know that these were the outbrust of centuries old frustation. when there is a quarrel inside a house , it is always better for one to remain silent . That is what you see in Nepal. Never think that Nepalese did so because they were submissive. We know how to handle our internal affairs.
And yah !!! new generation of Nepalese are not foolish . Just wait for few years ,,, you will see the difference. Atleast I am optimistic about it...
