Guys, In past, I used to read - in Sajha- about troubles by security/immigration officers at Delhi airport.. and people trying to avoid that transit route... Is it still the same? or the scenario has been improved in recent days? Need genuine suggestions from you who have been through DELHI (or indian) transits recently. Thanks again.

there's no threat to your and your luggage security at delhi airport. discard the gossips, and get the tickets. folks who spread the rumor are either travel agents, or पानीमरूवाहरू who know nothing better. although, don't act like a bigshot wannabe.. just like you respect people of all colors here in the states, do talk nice, and smile to the airport indian officials. if the layovers are long, kindly ask if they will take care of the luggage or if you'd have to keep em until the next boarding. there are lots of nepalis and indians to make friends with during the layovers. last time, i met a nice old muslim indian from chicago who was returning india for id... dude knew more about science than i'd thought!

100% with bhikhari. No issues with the transit. Let me add - Indians are not as bad as most people here think. Try having an open mind. Let's not blame a random Indian for their government's policy. I would hate to be labled plain stupid, greedy and corrupt myself based on our leaders... Peace.

Depends, My 84 year old grand father said that and was harassed. He speaks pretty good English and fine Hindi. Diplomat for life ( Not under democracy - so not a ghus khore). And yes, people have also reported about baggage being kept in DEL for commission purposes.
So..... you never know, when its your unlucky day. Middle East is better then India, but I say avoid both if possible. Look for European route,s even if you have to pay couple of 100 more for security.

Now a days the old folks are gone and new face with positive attitude are in duty. They will follow the same procedure but no hassle , even the baggage was without lock reached Ktm safely. Try to get the baggage checked all the way to Ktm, will be transported automatically to your flight to Ktm. Do not scare but take the advantage of low fare and stay away from Middle east even 3 poppy seed (that was from the food eat in Europe) will put you in jail over 4 years. Did you read about it?

MN_Nepali: "Diplomat for life ( Not under democracy - so not a ghus khore)" Yo kura ta ali hazam bhayana ni Som. Timro grandfather nahola tara 2046 agadi Nepal ma ghus khadainathe bhanne jasto bhan hune kuro bho yo. YoTaBhayanaNiSom. 100% with Bhojpure. You do have to make sure your luggage tag says "KTM", so that it becomes the responsibility of the carrier. Other than that, enjoy the flight.

There are some people they are like Harischadra, he may be one. I know couple people withdraw only monthly salary and retired. Their children are not happy about it. It reminds me a story I read long time ago. A lady who was in teaching profession got an opportunity for Ph. D. and she let it go, because she could leave her son. Her son was cursing her because if she had done that would be in better position with a prestige and better salary eventually higher standard of living. How about his own effort?
