U need to have the name of all ur relatives, uncle, bro, sis, fren, GF, ur dog too if there is space available and if u wanna make US visa guarantee than better give them all ur money and name of ur 21 branches of ur family, i mean start like this

Prithvi narayan shah his son
..... ...... ..... his son
................... his son

........................

...................

Gyanendra his son
paras his son
............. his son

give these list too visa guarantee.

thats false......wat i think is if u say ur parents have PR and ur brother is doing Ph.d, then there is a big chance of u not coming back to Nepal, i.e. u not leaving america....thats a big reason for them to reject ur F1 visa.

Well, its upto you what you will do, but to me being honest is the most important thing. If you are qualified, they will give you the visa. But if you think there are other reasons that your application is weak, say large fees, less scores, then you may consider not mentioning...

Naveen, from my experience, I think it would be better to tell them the truth. Yes, the other side of the story could sound reasonable, but if I were you, I would tell as it is. I told two of my brothers were here; the consular just asked what does the other one (one of them was my sponsor, so they knew about him) do, and that was it. I think you just have to prove your case strong more than your family's.

I don't know, but I think their denying the visa and giving the reason as the applicant may not return from the US is just a an easy cliche to deny one.

But again, like infinityplus1 said, it is up to you what to mention and what not to mention. Good luck! :)

Let me share a wise guess.
Consular at all US embassies around the world watch all non-immigrant applicants as "Possible immigrants" and the most important thing is to make them change their view point that you are not an intending immigrant (since you are applying for F1 Visa).

Honesty is the best policy but doesn't always help you to achieve what you want and what you deserve. You may have 1580 in GRE and 290 in CBT TOEFL with distinction in your studies, if you give them a slightest hint that you could be a possible immigrant then you are not qualified for non-immigrant visa.

This is what law and policy say.

Though Visa interview and KTM is more like picking bingo ping-pong balls, but in my opinion giving them info regarding your parents' PR and brother being here is a BAD idea. That way you won't have any STRONG FAMILY TIES in Nepal.

Think over it and do what your MIND says (not heart).

JUST TELL THE CONSULAR THAT ONLY WANT TO ENTER UNITED STATES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION BUT EVENTUALLY YOU WOULD MIGRATE TO AUSTRALIA SINCE AUSTRALIA LIFE IS BETTER THAN AMEIRCA AFTER YOU GRADUATE.
I TOLD THEM THIS AND THEY SMILE AT ME FIRST...........BUT I SPOKE THE TRUTH.

GOOD LUCK
