i don't think you need to pay any money to unlock your phone..i did mine by following these steps: open itunes in your laptop=> hook your iphone up=>backup=>restore..that was all i did..and my phone was unlocked..You can try if it'll work for you..

@ mero desh, that procedure is only possible if AT&T authorised the unlock (called remote unlock) which they wont for the Iphone 5S as far as I know.
