well kailadai, personally, I don't care what Veritis do or have done. I am not "her" who you think I am -- not a good thing to assume people's identity. I was just giving out information that I had.

I got trained from Veritis. I have to acknowledge that it was a rough road for me in the beginning, but I had all the skills that I needed from the company which helped me get into a great financial company.

Maaila's friend might be in a different situation than yours. All Nepalese brothers/sisters cannot right away start asking for 80/20 -- they got to build their skills first. I have come across lots of Nepalese folks out from college and making $6/hr in gas station wasting their time not knowing the opportunities out there.

We are here to help out each other but not to criticize or assume stuffs.

Business, Finance, enginering, no matter what is yr background if you r in OPT, go for these comapnies, it is the hot market for QA,BA to enter. JUst do some homeworks before joining. They are basically spread all over major cities. Choose one that is close to u and visit them personally. Ask questions like.....how many days in week u will get training? how long is their experience? how long they has been in the market? do they ve full time trainer or is it only in weekends?.........etc....

Some of these CO. run in one small office without proper classrooms and labs to practice. Nothing wrong but why choose rotten apple if u can choose guud apples.

I got trained from veritis, and yes I did start from salary ranging in or around $55k. I have no regrets though, for the position I am in right now. I wouldn't say I am defending Veritis, as I have no cause to do so.

You talk about supporting dhotis! If they weren't there, imagine where you would be. I am sure you have gotten or sought some sort of help from them.

As far as your comment of me, might be coming from $6/hr background -- I only know this: Most of us came from Nepal with a similar vision for our future, and that's my background, and so very well might be yours.

I have not been able to find any real good paying jobs.. the only job i can find is Tech Support.. I have been getting soooo many emails from these consultancy companies promising starting salary of $ 60,000 + etc etc

can anyone recommend me what to do...

my only problem with the consulting company is that iv heard some story abt Paycheck problems.. but the thing is i need job experience to get these top level jobs in SAP or ERP etc, so i feel i need to join Consultancy company...

I was in the same situation with Veritis Group. I know every nepali who works with Veritis. Veritis offered me 50k to start with. I found a job on my own on 75/hr and i keep 80% of it with different company. I was on OPT, i got trained on my own and they didnt have to invest anything on me. Every nepali i know are trying to get out of Veritis because of the pay. There are some indians who are on 80/20 but no nepali with veritis. There are lots of companies who offer 80/20. If you are in TX, there is a company named Saga, sagacs.com is the webpage, these offer 80/20 as well. If i had stayed with Veritis i would have made 26/hr but now im making 60/hr on my first project. By the way i dont belong to SAGA. But go to sulekha.com and negotiate with different companies. U are in a better postion if ur on an OPT.

Couple good things about veritis is that the owner is very polite person and he runs his payroll on time. But the pay sux!!! And miss Lina is great and she advocates Veritis for its low pay.

Stay away from Dibon. These people are bad. If you are in boston i know a good company there.

What building skill are u talking about, now i know that you are Lina itself. So you are telling people here that just cos u gotta build skills, u need to let Veritis take half of the bill rate. If you are thief(Resume Fakers) and so is Veritis( promotes fake resume) why is it that the consultant needs to sacrifice his pay for Veritis when he can get more somewhere else. Are you saying that if the consultant goes for 80/20 wont build his skills. Look at your reasoning, a third world currupt reasoning i would say.

So in ur opinion someone who is making 6/per hr should be used for 60/hr job and should be paid 20/hr. Let me give you one metaphore here. Lets say that you were one abused housewife in Nepal and your husband used to kick you 10 "latti" a day. Then you found another husband who only kicked you 5 laatti a day. Does that mean ur better off than what u had before.

The point is Veritis pays least and there are other companies who pay more. Consultants go for the one who pays the most regardless of their skill set. Got it?
