Hi Guys,

Putting your name on the national do-not call list is not going to be enough to stop NirvanaTel's harassing phone calls. I am on that list and have been. It will stop calls from national telemarketing, not international.

I am sick of those bastards calling all hours of the day, spoofing local numbers. You can't tell it's an international call because they use local numbers. It could be an emergency or some agency may be trying to get a hold of you for business purposes. There is no way to know who it is untill you pick up the phone.

Initially I was courteous and I explained why I was not interested in their phone card. And instead of listening and taking care of the issue, they sit there and argue with you. They are quite rough and rude. So I gave up on that and just stopped using the card.

Since then it's been over a few months and I have politely asked them to not call me multiple times. But I get these stupid phone calls all the time during work hours. And I have to say 'hello' quite a few times before they even talk. I tried hanging up, talking to them, everything. I've had it with these rude troublesome bastards.

So here's the permanent solution:

Everybody who has an issue with NirvanaTel, contact the Federal Communications Commission and lodge your complaint. You can call, email, fill website form, whatever is most convenient for you.

Explain that Nirvanatel is an international company making these calls from Nepal. And give any other information that may be relevant.
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html

This company is apparantly run in Nepal by Vinita (below)'s brother Vinayak Prasad. That's who the reps keep addressing as boss. Then I saw something about a Rohit Lohia, or a Rohia Lohit or something being an Owner of Nirvanatel on this site. I'm not sure if this is the same guy but,Rohit Lohia is the son of Colgate (Nepal) Chairman, Mr. Ashok Kumar Lohia. Rohit Lohia is Managing Director of Colgate.

It's amazing what you can find out if you're pissed off and spend some time in google :-)

Put all these details in your complaint and any other details that can help the FCC prosecute these guys. Thousands of hours of productivity is being lost between us all because of these assholes. The more the complaints, the stronger the case against them will be.

I live in New Jersey. May be I will drive down there to tell this person face to face. Just kidding.

You could try to contact their host at abuse@websitewelcome.com

It's not the best solution , but it might work.
