My issue sounds little confusing but I am hoping somebody would help me.

Currently I am working under H1b for an IT firm. I have been working for the company for more than 3 years. Recently my lawyer has filed for my green card through RIR( Recruitment in Reduction). Right now labor processing is in middle stage. Labor was filed in May 2004. Now the problem is, the company is loosing business in the market. I don't know when the company will pick up the business again. They are cutting off employees in the company, I am scare that they will get rid of me too.

Is it ok to take Unpaid personal leave and go to Nepal for few months just to save my job or should i look for other job. I know my boss will give me time off because he knows that i am applying for green card. I am not interested in working for other company and i know my company will come back in business again but i don't know after how many months later. Also I have 2 classes left to finish my master program. Should i register the class or not. If incase i get lay off i can transfer from h1 to f1. But i love to keep my labor processing alive than to transfer to f1 coz i can finish those 2 classes any time.

What will be my best option? Can somebody enlight me?

Complete your Masters; atl east you will be in status and have a degree.

Or,

If you are still in status, take unpaid leave to save your workplace money/take a vacation. Ask your lawyer for advice on this one!

ok now it seems very serious problem as you have mentioned .like you said you have a lots of option but don't know what to do?what i will suggest you is talk to your lawyer about it,explain to your lawer every thing ,as i have beleived he /she could be the only person who can show you the right way if he/she is very professionall in this field,thats my view.

and also you have mentioned that your company is laying off employees ,and ytou want to take a non payleave,well in this case you will be on your own.and about those others you should better cunsult with your lawyer personnaly

why's everyone's scared to go back to Nepal? the country of your own, the country where you were born. You guys are always scared and running from one thing or another. Then you organize these ANA and Nepali gatherings to show how much Nepali you are. Go live in Nepal and you don't have to worry about these immigration crap...
