Does anyoe know how much a Nepalese can get foreign currency from Nepal Rastriya Bank while travelling abroad? Also how much a non-Nepalese (not Indian) citizen visiting Nepal can get foreign currency while leaving Nepal for his/her country? Thanks for the information.

NRB doesnt allow more than 2000$...however there are lots of money exchanges inside ktm..so u can always bring any amount u want in cash but not by other methods. However if u r caught at TIA with more than 2000$ it ll be a tragedy but it is a rare occurence...rock with dollars in ur pocket dude..cheers

The maximum limit for that is $2000 but It depends upon your passport in the sense that If you have stamp of some dollars in your passport that some travel agencies stamp in your passport the amount which you paid while buying t$icket, then you cannot carry cash $2000. You are legally allowed to carry the rest amount from $2000. Its risky it TIA if you were checked. But if you are already familiar with TIA, hardly they check. So, its no proble. If you were checked and found more then that then it will be tragedy...... you have to loose it. So, it depends upon you: u want to take risk or not
