There was a guy in ocean city who got involved in an accident. He was riding a bicycle and was hit by a car. That guy's condition is serious and now, he is in comma. (this happened some 3-4 days ago). I hope that he gets well soon.

Ocean City, June 17: Two out of the three Nepalese students cycling on the bike route inOcean City, MD were hit by a
car on Saturday June 16, 2007.While Anurup Dhakal suffered injuries and fractures on his body, Akash Chapagain
was critically wounded with numerous fractures on his skull, and was immediately airlifted to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. Dhakal, who was discharged from the hospital
next day, visits hospital daily for cleaning and dressing. Chapagain is still in hospital, in a critical situation and has gone through two surgeries so far. His parents Govinda Chapagain and Indira Chapagain were
granted visa and will be in Maryland on Saturday evening June 23. Both victims hail from Biratnagar, Nepal.

Thanx guys for the update.I hope and pray the news that his parents got visa and are on the way is true as last time I heard they were stranded in Ktm due to denial of visa. I urge all nepali community to help out the victim financially as I know they gonna need it badly,soon.

If they were hit by a car, then the driver will b responsible for all the medical expenses and compensation. But be sure to make clear whether the driver been caught or not?

No . they wern't denied VISA . Where do u people get such news from ? Anyway's I know all 3 students . Yes,Akash is still in a critical condition , hopefully with god's grace he will make it .
Doctor's r trying hard and we all r praying for him .These kids are from wichita KS , and had gone there to work , unfortunately were struck by a reckless driver at 12.30 am in the night . The cops say the driver was not drunk , but he did hit and run .
The driver has been caught and is 17 yrs old . These guys r trying to find a good lawyer so that they can fight it out in the court ,( specially with akash being in critical condition ),If anyone knows any nepalese lawyer plz do post his/her phone number so that these kids and get help .Nepalese embassy has been really helpful and have been supporting these kid's to the full extent .

As for the fund raising , i am not sure but today akash's parents will be on Ocean city and i'll keep u guys posted with whats happening and if help is needed i'll post it .

yes guys if the driver is caught, we dont need to worry about the medical bills so far. Now the matter is about the condition of nepalese brothers.

oh my god..aakash is in hospital? my fren just called me from nepal and told me that he is in ocean city. i heard he just woke up after that accident. His parents are already there. He studied in Novel academy for +2 in ktm..right now he is in peninsula regional hospital.

hi this is me akash chapagain who has been discussed over there hey i ma ifne and thank-x for the concered u guys have raised i am extremely thankful to you ..i ma extremely fine now and right now i am in re-hab centre callled western maryland hospital centre ......the doctor has accepted to late me go ourt but thee is no body who can bring my parents on manday when the dpoctor is here and i can go back ..........thankyou a lopt for the concerns u have raised ...thank you a lot
