My three friends went to a local bar yesterday. Once they were done drinking and eating, waiter came to their table and gave them a bill which was $70. They paid $25 each to waiter which adds up to $75.

Then, the manager gave $5 back to the waiter as a change back. On her way back to their table, thinking it will hard for them to divide that $5.00 for three person, waiter kept $2.00 for herself as a tip and gave  $1.00 each back to them. ....................................

its not $72 + $2 tip
its that $2 tip is already included in $72    ( bill is $70 + tip $2 = $72 )   so thats the confusing part
and remaining $3 is in their pocket a dollar each
so its $72 they paid ( tip included)  +   $3 (dollar each in their pocket which)  =      $75

if those guys who dined were wondering about missing $1.00, it is okay, let those stupid dumbasses wonder. If our balbahadur wonders about it, then it's a problem. still hope that our balbahadur does not need to be admitted to grade 2 again to learn this kind of math problem, which is not puzzle at all.

anyway, total they spent = $70 for bill + $2 for tips = total of $72, not $74. So, there is no question of missing $1.00.

It was more psychological question then mathematical question...

there is no psycho involved in this question. It is dumb stupid logic with simple solution. As some said in the different threat " making simple thing complex".

coz the question says $72 + $2 tips......

so the question in itself is flawed............
